Ira Glass is a well-loved name in our house.  He is one of the best story-tellers I have ever had the pleasure of listening to, and his weekly NPR program, "This American Life," is a treat every time I get to hear it.

While perusing some of my regular blogs, I came across this clip of him.

So applicable to me--in so many areas.  But especially it brought to mind my scrapbooking and card-making.

Both I enjoy immensely, but both are hobbies in which it's easy to compare yours to others and find lots of faults with your own.

But the great thing about card-making, I have to say, is that even if the card turns out sort of crappy, it will still almost certainly be appreciated by whomever you give it to, and then it's gone and you don't have to see it anymore.

Heidi has been coming over weekly to make cards with me, and I have so enjoyed our time.  The conversation is nice, of course, but it's also really nice to give and get input on the cards we make.

We are both getting better at it.  It's a long process.

Last week I finally made a card that I really like.  I would post pictures of some of the less-well-liked cards... but those are all long gone by now.

PS - Has anyone seen my title bar?  It used to be at the top... and now it's gone.
