Oh my goodness, what a week! Daniel was out of town all of last week, and besides some very helpful and appreciated breaks from our moms, I was on my own with the kids. So I didn't get any blogging done! But we survived the week, so I'm considering it a success.
Anyways, on to Elliot!

Can you believe this little goober is almost a year old?? He is walking around all over the place now, and so proud of himself. He climbs, too! One of his favorite places to climb is in the guest bathroom. There's a little step ladder in there so Lucy can wash her hands, and he LOVE climbing up it and holding onto the sink to try to play with the water. I think he has caught on to the fact that although the toilet is definitely off-limits (a spanking offense), the sink is totally ok! So he wants to be standing at the sink all the time now. But especially when Lucy is standing there, washing her hands.
His only word is still "uh-oh" - but he's very consistent with it. He says it about half the time something falls (or something "gets dropped") from the table.
He loves water. He gets a bottle of it whenever he goes down for a nap, and his little breathing speeds up in the few seconds before I finally hand it over to him in the crib. It's so cute. And also a little disconcerting. I'm going to measure his actual water intake tomorrow.
He loves knocking towers down. Hearing "KABOOM" whenever he knocks a tower down absolutely cracks him up--he just laughs and laughs. And poor Lucy--it's usually her towers he wants to knock down. We've had to re-institute use of the baby gate in the last week to give her some space to build towers that can last more than a few seconds.
He's still napping twice/day (praise God). I am trying desperately to keep one of those naps at the same time Lucy goes down.
The temper tantrums have really started now. He has a mind of his own and is beginning to have strong opinions about where he is, whether he's strapped in, and what toys are in his hands.
He had his first haircut!! Last weekend when I was at work, Daniel took both kids to get their hair trimmed. Are you as impressed with that as I was? It didn't go smoothly, and Lucy managed to get out of her haircut (it would have been her first). But Elliot got a nice little trim and looks like a very handsome little boy.
Well, Elliot--you're almost a year old!! We've LOVED seeing your personality develop over the past few months. You are such a cute and joyful baby, and you are loved.
