A New Life Stage

I can't help but feel that we have entered a new life stage today.



Today begins Lucy's weekly allowance and the formal introduction to sticker charts her family contribution (i.e. chores).
 

She's casually been helping with silverware, table setting/clearing, and clean-up time.
 

But today begins (what I'm hoping is) a transition to "big kid helpfulness" -- which is actual helpfulness, as opposed to "toddler helpfulness" -- which is more like an enormous exercise in futility patience.
 

I'm not entirely certain what to do with Elliot, who is still learning some of the skills Lucy's mastered, but he wants to help.  So far, he's gotten a sticker chart, too.  But no allowance, yet.



We'll just see how it goes, I guess.
