Seven Months: Oliver's Monthly Photo

Look who has TWO teeth coming in and can crawl from one room to the next in under 2 minutes!  That's right.  Oliver.  The beater of all other Pruessner kids in all categories of milestones.

This little one is plowing right ahead toward pulling up and dressing himself and going to college.  There are so many times during the day when I just look intently into his face and command my brain to remember the moment.  And how he looks and feels in my arms.  He has become so affectionate and cuddly lately.

Actually, that is in large part due to his newly developed separation anxiety.  Which is not much fun for those babysitting him.  But I LOVE walking in the door and seeing his little face light up and watching him crawl across the red carpet as fast as his arms and legs will take him.  He is too cute.

In the last month Oliver has gone from exclusive breastfeeding to finger feeding (a little) and shovel spoon feeding quite a variety of foods!  Since I've been cooking Paleo for us, Oliver has been getting more than the typical infant serving of things like almond flour, cashew butter, parsnips, crabs, and coconut milk.  His diet is pretty odd.  But he doesn't seem to mind at all, and it's nice to have at least one person in the house enthusiastically eating these paleo meals.

He has mastered the pout face.  It is extraordinary.  When he is feeling left out or when one of the other kids takes his toys, his lower lip bulges way out, and he looks like a cartoon.  He is so cute.  He continues to be the most ticklish baby I've ever seen.  I can actually tickle him to sleep when he finishes nursing before bed.  It's so funny and strange.  I tickle his ribs, and he laughs and laughs, and then his eyes roll up and he closes his eyelids and gets quiet.  I've never seen anything like it.

Oliver, we love you and are proud of you.  Your calm, easy-going manner amazes us.  But don't worry.  When you become a "terrible two" and the easy-going manner evaporates... you will still amaze us, and we will still love you.
