Did I already tell you that? After a quick internet search, I can tell you I'm not the first to do this - not by a long shot.

But in truth, there are not many nursery-closets from which to draw inspiration.
A few here and there, but not many. So we pretty much came up with our own plans for this one.
If I had mastered Sketch-Up in the 15 minutes I dedicated to learning it, I would have a digital sketch of the blue prints to share with you. But I didn't master it--not hardly--so I have no such plans to show you.
Don't worry though - the plans are in my head and on some notebook paper, and I think it'll be great. Elliot will have his very own custom-designed loft crib and changing surface
Our bedroom, now with the consolidation of stuff from the 4th bedroom and my closet, is a complete disaster area. So I definitely need to get this nursery-closet done quickly so we can find our new "normal set-up" in our room... and so we can move on to the living room flooring that needs to be laid before baby Elliot arrives at Thanksgiving. Tick tock.
Wow Kimie! That looks so cool! I've been wondering how you were going to fit a crib in your closet. Looking forward to seeing it!
ReplyDeleteYou're making great progress! Baby Elliot is so lucky to have parents like you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mom and Heidi! Heidi - I liked the photos you posted from CO :). Nice job photoshopping!
ReplyDeletewow I can't wait to see how turns everything!! great idea
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the real thing. I'm sure your pictures are more than adequate, but my totally-not-visual-spatial brain really doesn't follow. All I understand of the word "loft" really is that it means "high" or such. (I could look it up, I guess). Like... in college, people with lofts slept up high and had their desks below. But I doubt you're putting his crib up above your clothes... right?
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's coming along! Do you have to do anything special to ventilate the closet?
ReplyDeleteJenn - You can see it in person in just 1 week! Looking forward to that. Nick - Daniel wants to add a vent and says it shouldn't be hard to do. If, by some chance, he doesn't get to it before baby E comes, we'll likely just leave the door open :).
