It's a Few Days Till Christmas

December has flown by in a flurry of baking, shopping, photography, and mommy-ing our two little ones.  It's actually not that I haven't been taking photos.  I just haven't paused long enough to get them processed and onto the blog!  But enough excuses.  I got the camera out this evening and got the photos processed.  So here we go.

Lucy is so verbal now.  She narrates everything she does and sees during the day.  She's trying new sentences and conjugating verbs based on the rules of grammer she's observed.  Of course, so many English verbs are irregular that she makes the typical toddler errors; it's just such a delight to hear her try out new things to say.

And suddenly she loves to sing!  I kept thinking it odd that she really hadn't any interest in singing, but now she does!  Her favorites are the alphabet (in Spanish, mostly), "Row Your Boat," "Winnie the Pooh,"  and a little ditty on one of her favorite TV Shows that goes, "Keep trying!  You'll get better!"  That last one she's so attached to that I'll frequently hear her proclaiming, "Mommy!  I keep trying!  I get better!"  Sometimes she'll scream out in frustration (usually when trying to put on some article of clothing), and when I offer to help her, she replies, "Ummm no.  I keep trying."

She and Elliot are pals.  When he is very upset, she rarely growls at him anymore.  She more often goes in search of his pacifier or some other toy for him, or she'll pat him on the shoulder and say, "it's okay, baby boy."

A huge congratulations to my brother who recently got engaged!  He asked me to come take some pictures for him, so I did!  Here I am hiding in the bushes right before he and his girlfriend Alex arrived at the park.

And here's a re-enactment of the proposal :).

We took the kids shopping last weekend.  As in... we took them along while we shopped for us.  It was a pretty easy little jaunt up to Allen, and I was pleased with how well the kids (and we) did!  Nothing special, but I snapped a pic and want to remember it.
