Twelve Months (Elliot's Monthly Photo)

Oh my goodness!!  What a week it has been.  We celebrated Elliot's birthday last Sunday (I guess two Sundays ago, now), then drove to New Braunfels for a family reunion, then back home so I could work last weekend, and I've had photography sessions to boot!  It's been a busy, busy 10 days or so.

Anyways.

Our baby boy turned 1 year old last weekend! Can you believe it?

He is like a very little boy!  But still a baby.  New things he's doing include:

1.  Eating with a fork!  He is more successful everyday at stabbing his food and sometimes keeping it on the fork long enough to get it in his mouth.  It's fun to watch him.  I think he will definitely like tools some day.
2.  Spinning!  He likes to spin around in circles until he gets dizzy and falls down.  He can usually make it about 1.5 rotations.  It's so cute.  He smiles really big when he's doing it.
3.  Wiggle-wiggle-wiggle!  He bobbles his head side to side and shakes his body back and forth.  He does this at meal times a lot (thanks to Lucy's teaching by example).
4.   He is very offended by diaper changes.  Even just picking up the diaper is upsetting to him, and he tries to squirm away as soon as he realizes what's in his immediate future.
5.  He loves blueberries and grapes!  Loves them.  Especially blueberries. Funny, b/c he wouldn't touch them the first few times I put them on his plate.  In general, he's much more skeptical of foods than Lucy ever was.  He'll try new things, but only on his terms and in his time.  Nothing goes in his mouth that he hasn't felt, smelled, poked at, and rejected at least a few times first.
6.  He is cuddly.  He likes to put his head down on our shoulders and snuggle.
7.  The mommy separation anxiety has increased several fold over the last few weeks.  That's hard.
8.  He can climb all the way up the ladder of the slide now!  He usually cries when he gets to the top, but with a little assistance he loves to slide down.
9.  His walking is so solid now!! He's actually started stomping away when he's upset--he's that solid on his feet.

I know there's more, but this is all I can think of at the moment.  No words yet.  Just "uh oh" -- and he signs "all done" after eating, but nothing else consistently yet.  Hopefully he'll start signing more in the next few months.

His birthday party was such fun!!  I will post pictures very soon.
