Norbuck Park Outing

I needed to scope out a potential photo shoot site a couple days ago, and I am lucky to have two enthusiastic little models.

So around sunset, we packed up and headed to the park.

It was so much fun.

Elliot loved running around in all the grass.

I guess he can't really see the trails very well, so he kept walking/running in the tall grass and falling down every few steps.

But it didn't seem to bother him.

I think he was just having a blast getting his energy out, outside.  We've been cooped up, I guess.

I was reflecting with a friend the other day that I rarely do these types of shoots with the kids.

I don't want them to resent the camera, so I mostly photograph them when they're already having fun, and I take mostly candid shots.

But really, Lucy loves having her picture taken and will cooperate really nicely for a few poses here and there.

Elliot's not yet of the age where he can cooperate with sitting still very long.

But when I direct Lucy to drape an arm around him or direct him to give her a kiss, he's a very good sport.

It's so, so fun to get to capture their sweet faces and personalities in moments like these.

It was really delightful.

And I'm happy with the location -- and thrilled to have another Dallas location to add to my list of go-to places for portraits.
