But she really seems to enjoy them a lot.
It's been a busy couple of weeks, and Daniel and I are tired. Working during the last two weekends has contributed to that. Staying up too late watching shows we love (read: In Plain Sight) has contributed, and so has screaming baby Lucy.
The hard thing (or one of) about the first year with a baby is that as soon as the schedule starts to make sense, it changes. I loved the 3 naps/day schedule with 7 o'clock bedtime and then a 4 AM feeding. It was nice. And predictable. Now it's... bed at 7... up at 8:30... scream until 9... or 9:30... or 10... then up again at midnight... and then finally up for good about 6:30 or 7 AM. Not sustainable, I tell you.
Whenever I sense that I'm complaining "too much," I feel the need to counter it with something positive. Some silver lining or reference to how many others have it much worse.
I think I'll take this opportunity to not do that. Daniel and I have wonderful support and a fantastic little girl, but taking care of a baby is sometimes just hard.
Daniel's parents were kind enough to loan us their car for several weeks (or months?), and we just returned it to them yesterday. So Lucy and I are re-adjusting to being home all day. I think it will be good for us. We may get a second car later this year, but nothing's set in stone yet.
I love these photos! And the video is precious!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry it's been so rough, Kim; it sounds like you guys are pretty tired.
