That's true. Poor Elliot is teething. He's also potty training, hard core. He decided last weekend he was ready to really potty train, and we spent the whole weekend taking trips to the potty and getting potty treats.

He's become pretty choosy about which potty treats he'll accept (how did we get here??). We are putting our foot down about not throwing fits when he doesn't get the treat he wants. He wants to open a new lollipop each time he goes, instead of accepting one of the lollipops already open. He only gets the lollipop for 5 minutes and then has to return it with a "happy attitude". I will admit, it is asking a lot of an almost-2-year-old to have to give back the lollipop after 5 minutes. But he's gotten really good and calm about that part.

He is so sweet about sharing with Lucy. Hearing them converse is hilarious and heart-warming. The back-and-forths they have are just so funny. Lucy says things like, "Oh, Eh-yot, I see you spe-wd something on you. Would you like I can clean it up for you, sweetie?" And he will reply, "Uh-huh."
And then the next second, he and Lucy are fighting over a toy. They are a very sweet and very normal brother-sister pair.
He has recently begun adding the "k" to the end of the world "milk," which has made understanding said word waaaaay easier. It is no longer "mah" but now fully, "muh--k". Much better. And when accompanied by the sign for milk, it's amazingly easy to understand.
Elliot frequently checks in with me to see where Oliver is. If he doesn't see him in the living room, he'll say, "Mama? Awwrrrr." And I say, "Car? Star? Water? Would you like some water?" And he will sign "baby" and repeat, "Awwrrrr." And I say, "Oliver?" And he says, "yeah!" And I say, "he's still napping." And Elliot says, "Oh." ...and goes about his business. He's very nurturing of Oliver and of any baby doll he plays with. He still loves giving sweet kisses.
Elliot likes Doc McStuffins just as much as Lucy these days. But there's one episode involving a giraffe in a claw-toy-vending-game machine, and it freaks him out. I'm not sure why, but he consistently asks that I fast-forward those scenes. It's really interesting.

Elliot, you're awesome and smart and cute and funny and almost potty trained (thank you!!!). We love you so much and are so glad you are in our care.

What a sweet, sweet boy! Love that he checks up on little brother.
