Five Months Old (Lucy's Monthly Photo)

Five Months Old!  Can you believe it?

Inspired by this blogger, I'll be photographing Lucy each month in her green outfit until her second birthday.



Lucy has turned into a little blondie!  Well, mostly blonde, anyways.  She has a little tuft of brunette at the top. Oh, and check out the drool.  I think she'll have teeth by next month. She's been teething for about 2 months now.



I love her face.  It seems to have changed in the last month.  I'm not sure why - maybe it's the hair - but she just looks so different than she did even a month ago. 




And I can tell she's really close to being able to sit on her own.  She's much steadier in the Bumbo now. 



I love bedtime.  Well, actually there are some very challenging things about bedtime.  But I love how easily she laughs when she's tired.  It's so fun.




Daniel has been enjoying more Daddy/Daughter time with Lucy since I went back to work (only a little) this past month.  It has been so comforting to know she's with him while I'm gone all day.  And thankfully, I have only worked a handful of days in the last month.





Car rides are still, by far, the worst part of any day.  Lucy still hates being in the back seat by herself, and she makes that fact known.  It's pretty miserable for her and for me.  I can't wait for her to grow out of that!



She is all about grabbing her toes now.  It's very helpful with diaper changing, b/c she keeps her bottom up off the table the whole time and seems quite delighted.




One thing Daniel and I really enjoy doing now is watching her on the baby video monitor after we put her down at night.  Sometimes we put her down asleep, but often we just put her in the crib while she's still awake.  She looks around, often straight into the camera, grabs her feet, and just generally seems pretty pleased with herself.  It's SO CUTE to watch on the video monitor.  We've been trying to think of a way to record the video.



Lucy, we are having so much fun with you!  What a gift from God, to be able to enjoy your sweet face, voice, and hands everyday.
