Blackberrry Luvin' Sweet Cheeks

Some friends of ours invited us over the other night so that Lucy could pick blackberries from their many bushes.

BOY, did she have a good time.

She was pushing them into her mouth, one after the other, and was single-minded in her purpose.

Don't worry about the dress.  The stains came right out.  Thank you for your concern, though.

I was worried she wouldn't understand the concept of pulling the berries off the bush to eat them, but that was not a problem.

It didn't take her long to catch on.

Though she really enjoyed eating the ones from the bowl, the ones we had picked for her--these were the proverbial "low-hanging" fruit.  The actual low-hanging fruit also got picked.  After the bowl was empty.

She ate so many blackberries that Daniel and I were worried what consistency (gross or disgusting) her poop might be.

But luckily for us, we left her with Daniel's parents for the weekend before we had a chance to find out (sorry, David and Becky!).

This was also Lucy's first up-close encounter with a lab.  Samantha is our friends' puppy and was really friendly and mild-mannered.  Lucy likes dogs.  I'm glad she gets to see lots of them, between our friends' houses and our families'.

Someday we'll get a dog.  But today is not that day.  We're gonna wait a little longer.

Our hands are full with the little rascal we already have.
