Daniel's dad (one of Lucy's two "Papas") wrote this little addendum after reading the post, "Decisions, decisions" (below). With his permission, here it is for you to enjoy:
Lucy, the decisions are going to get a bit harder, and everyone is going to want to discuss them with you.
“Lucy, you should have stayed with the Lens Cap, less messy!”
Then you will wonder later if you really should have chosen the Lens Cap. Hmmmm?
When
you are about eight years old, you will say, “why not both.” I want
both the Lens Cap and the Potato, cause it is what I want.
Then, about age 12, you will feel guilty for being so materialistic as to “want it all.”
When
you are teenager, you will think, well, the Lens Cap has fewer
calories, and no carbohydrates, “how could I EVER have chosen the
potato.”
Definitely the Lens Cap! No doubt about it.
Definitely the Lens Cap! No doubt about it.
Then,
in college, you will say, “but the potato is the Natural Choice; who
wants to expose themselves to carcinogenic plastics found in Lens Caps.”
When
you are graduating from college, you will wonder what your choices say
about you. Are you a Lens Cap Kinda Girl, or a Potato Kinda Girl ?????
And, you will wonder, ”Maybe I am not married because I am a Potato Kinda Girl, but only dating Lens Cap Kinda guys.
Then,
you will embark on a new self-improvement program, vowing to eschew
both Lens Caps and Potatoes. You are above all of this.
Then, in your early twenties, on a creative streak, you will choose a Plastic Potato slice, the best of both worlds.
Then you will have kids of your own. You will discover that what you want doesn’t really matter anymore.
You
will have your own daughter who thinks both Lens Caps and Potatoes are
so last century, she wants to teeth on the new polymer based transporter
remote control,
or a slice of potato, maybe.
this is hilarious!
