It had been a while since I photographed Lucy outside, portrait-style.
So I seized the small burst of energy I had the other morning to do just that. This sweet red/white dress is on loan to us, and I just love it.
Poor Lucy may have been confused by my alternating, "SIT STILL - NO, NO" and then really silly noises to get her to laugh/smile.

She did an awesome job of not falling off the chair :).

The roofers across the street got most of her attention, but I got the occasional smile and giggle. I love these three (above).

Sweet girl.
Quick wardrobe change, and we were ready for shoot #2, in purple.
She's getting another tooth - on the top - so she's been keeping her tongue out a little most of the time.
Can you imagine how funny it must feel--going from all gums to teeth for the first time? I bet I would keep my tongue out, too--just feeling the little teeth.
I just love her face.
Swimming update: Tracey told me the other day that Lucy is very "independent" and very "persistent" and will need another week of lessons to get the float down.
Apparently she wants to do it by herself but doesn't quite know how, and she pushes Tracey's hands away whenever she tries to correct her position in the water.
So next week she'll be in a teeny tiny wet suit, which should help Tracey be able to give correction without so much negative response from Lucy. We'll see how it goes.
We're still working on the concept of waving to someone when we say hello or goodbye, but she definitely loves to wave when she hears me or Daniel say, "Hiiiii, Lucy!"
Brilliant! I was just working on printing photos yesterday, and now I magically have beautiful, recent photos of lucy. Thank you!
