Have I told you how much the children love swim lessons? Zero. That is how much they love swim lessons.

When Lucy realizes where we are going in the car, she immediately begins a chorus of, "Mommy, hode youuu..."

...which doesn't end until she's safely back out of the pool and being held, warm and dry, in my arms with a sucker in her mouth.

However, these lessons (taught by Tracey at Floating Kiwis) have been highly effective at teaching both kids how to float. And Lucy is even swimming a few feet and then flipping to float on her back to rest.

Elliot is a solid floater. It makes him super angry, but he can flip and float almost as soon as he's dropped in the water. It's a beautiful sight.
If he somehow made it over to the pool while I wasn't looking, I'm glad to know he would quickly be floating and screaming.

I have a video of both kids, but I'm having uploading problems. I'll try again later.

Oh no! But I thought Lucy loved to swim and float...what changed? Poor, poor babies! But SAFE is SOO worth it.
ReplyDeleteWell, she DID love it last summer, when it was fun. But she hated her lessons last summer, too. I think it's just uncomfortable for her to have to swim and hold her breath when it's not her choice, ya know? I have no doubt she'll love it again in a few weeks when she's able to splash around with the other kids. Thanks for commenting :)
