Our friends are having a baby a few months from now, so we helped them celebrate with a shower or two this weekend!
Lucy got to help Daniel make the punch - a big success (pineapple juice + ginger ale).

The baby's gender will be a surprise and his/her name kept secret until the birth--so exciting! Daniel and I barely considered that option when we were pregnant with Lucy. But kudos to Jenn and Michael for their bravery!

The shower colors were green, yellow, and brown -- with a monkey theme.

My friend Alli made this cute baby buggy out of fruit -- with a baby monkey inside!

I have another post about this frame wall--I'll post it soon. But I bought the paper designs off Etsy and printed them on my home computer. And then we colored white butcher paper with crayons.

We made these paper lanterns. I bought styrofoam rods from HobbyLobby (3 for $5) and then cut them off at different lengths. Then Ginnie and I cut tissue paper into 4 inch squares and stuck them into the rods with straight pins. It was pretty time-consuming, but I think they turned out so cute and festive!
Banana chocolate chip muffins with cream cheese icing. Yum. I decorated the cupcake stand with scrapbook paper and ribbon and a wooden monkey from Hobby Lobby.
This game turned out to be so fun - one of Jenn's friends bought little baby items and put one in each sack. Each item began with the letter on the brown sack. We passed the bags around the shower, and each person guessed what was inside the bag by feeling the outside. Then, whoever got the most items correct won a prize!

We missed the 5th girl in our community group (she was out sick), but it was nice to get a picture of the rest of us!

And the guys.

I think everybody had a great time at the shower, and I'm so glad Michael and Jenn got to see lots of their friends and feel loved as they prepare for their little monkey.
We are SO looking forward to meeting you, baby monkey!

Wow! What a great-looking party! Your friends are super lucky to have you for a friend. So happy!
