This Week's Catching Up

We had a busy weekend.  It was Mother's Day, my FIL's birthday, and our 6th anniversary--all within 2 days of each other.  And then on Monday Daniel left on a business trip.  So we are missing him.

But the kids and I have been doing well - due in large part to lots of help from our family.  Both kids are in swim class now ("aquatic survival" classes, really), so one of my sisters has been coming over daily to help with that.  I'll post videos/photos later this week.

This little munchkin loves the swing in the backyard!  I put him in it for the first time the other day and snapped a few camera phone shots.

I loved how happy he was.

And this little munchkin is just getting so big so fast.  Seeing her slow herself down on the swing by dragging her feet... made me realize how big she's gotten in the past few months!  She's turning into a little girl right before our eyes, and it's so exciting--though part of me wants her to stay little.

Did I tell you she loves slides?  Loves them.  "Outside" and "slide" and "sad" all sound exactly the same right now.  Context clues = helpful.

And this little munchkin is scooching all over the place!  He got himself under the couch like that.  Just wiggles and wiggles to get wherever he wants to go.

He's been doing the rocking-back-and-forth-on-his-hands-and-knees thing lately... practicing for the moment he crawls across the floor.  I was just commenting the other day that Lucy was this age when she started sitting.  And he started sitting the same day I made the comment!

"Color" and "stroller" also sound exactly the same when Lucy says them.  She loves the stroller.  I love taking the kids for walks, but I'm already dreading the 100+ degree days around the corner.  They're not here yet, though.  One day at a time.

  1. They are getting so big! Golly, it's like "don't blink!"
Love that first one of you and Elliott. And his expression looking up from under the couch.

  2. And also, I hope it's going alright there without Daniel... and that his trip is going well... and that y'all had a good anniversary!

    1. Thanks, Heidi!! Yes, going ok. Glad he's coming home tomorrow, but sad I have to work the next two days after he gets home. Oh well. As always, thanks for your comment!
