Oh my gosh, where to begin. Lucy has changed so much in the last month. She is talking like a fiend these days!

Lucy's first real sentence was, "I want granola," but she's been saying lots of short sentences like that in the last month. Others that I can recall include, "baby sad" (when Elliot cries) and "I want that one" and "pacifier off" (after nap time) and "that one off too" (a reminder for us to turn off the white noise machine after nap time).

She has become mildly obsessed with her little friend Sebi, who lives down the street. She asks to see him and his baby brother Mateo multiple times, everyday. "Pebby!"
She actually has enough long hair to put in a pony tail now! That is totally bittersweet. She looks SO cute in a ponytail, but I can't believe how old it makes her look.

Since visiting Heidi and Dave in Ohio, she is all about TRAINS. Thankfully, somebody on YouTube made a couple videos called "Kids Love Trains" -- which is, essentially, a montage of somebody's home video footage of trains pulling into and out of stations. She loves it and asks to watch it all the time.

She loves stabbing things with her fork and proclaiming, "I got it!" She doesn't eat the bite until everybody at the table has acknowledged what a good job she did in getting it :).

Also since the trip to OH, she loves airplanes and proclaims, "eh-pen!!" whenever she hears one. "Airplane" and "open" sound almost exactly the same. She also proclaims whenever anything is "loud!" and that includes the food processor, blender, drill, lawn mower, and toy horse that makes a trotting noise (and that really freaks her out).

Her enthusiasm for potty training waxes and wanes, but she is unequivocal in her fervor for "treats" -- which are her reward for going potty in the potty.

She has gotten excited about holding Elliot these last few days. It's so funny... I don't think she's cared one way or the other about holding him since he was born.
But for the past week or so, she is all about it.

When she wants anything, her way of asking goes like this: yes, please more! help please stuck! yes, please DAT!

She is so ticklish. It's a delight to hear Daniel in the evenings say, "Lucy! Do you have TICKLES??" And she squeals and half-heartedly runs away. She loves being tickled.
Only 2 more months until her 2nd birthday! Gotta figure out what we're doing for that!
She looks so cute! It will be so fun for her to look back at these posts when she gets older.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope so :) I think I will, at least.
