Happy Easter!

Did you have a nice Easter?  I hope so.  I hope you were reminded throughout the day of the miracle of God's love for us--made very real through the sacrifice of Jesus on a cross on Friday and his subsequent resurrection on Sunday!  If your celebration of Easter has more to do with bunnies than crosses, I still hope you had a great day -- but if you'd like to know more about the Christian meaning of the holiday, shoot me an email (you can "right click" the email button and "copy address").

We had a really nice day, despite my being sick.  We started the day with a sunrise service at HPUMC.  It was really nice, and not too cold for a change this year.  Lucy was fairly content to wander around on the grass, eating snacks.  Mom held Elliot, who snoozed through most of it wrapped up in her wool coat.  Sorry I didn't get any pictures.  We had gotten every little sleep the night before, and between the sleep deprivation and the worsening viral symptoms I was experiencing, I didn't think to grab the camera.

We hosted brunch at our house, and my parents and sister and brother-in-law all came.  It was really fun, though the topic of conversation was one of the strangest I've had at Easter brunch.  We mostly talked about gun laws and the right to bear arms.

Next we navigated over to Daniel's parents' side of town for an Easter egg hunt!

It was so cute watching the kids look for the eggs.

They were filled with Teddy Grahams, grapes, and a little bit of candy.

Lucy! Say cheese!  Cheeeeeese (with mouth full of crackers).

Heather, Justin, and Dave made sure the mini-van didn't get stolen.  Don't they look enthused?

Elliot looked so fancy in his Easter outfit.  And Heather looked so pretty, holding him :).

Unfortunately I got sicker as the day went on, and then Lucy started with a stomach bug in the middle of the night that carried through the next 2 days.  We are only just now getting our feet back under us, and I'm still pretty under the weather.

But Easter was great.  I hope yours was, too.

  1. I made ice cream and crescent roll coffee cake for ice cream and it was delicious! And I flew about 45 minutes all day. Love that the eggs were teddy Grahams and grapes :-)
