Day 3

The B&B is great. It is very Victorian and big. The dining room seats 10, which is how many there were of us yesterday. Today only 8, but the young-looking couple was there again, and that was nice.
The parlor is where the men used to smoke.Next door is the "ladies' lounge"
I'm not a big fan of taxidermy. It's really weird to me. But some people go for it, and I guess differences like that are what make for a diverse world.
Looks real though, doesn't it?
The bathroom is also big. And girlie! So pretty.
And what is a Victorian house without an enormous porch?
When we walked up to the farmer's market, the smell of fresh basil was everywhere.
Gorgeous, huge amounts of fresh, locally-grown produce all over the place made me so envious.
The market is held on the Portland State University campus, so there were patches of grass with kids and parents sprawled out on blankets. It was lively and serene all at once.
We had a really healthy lunch. It was cheap and good.
Swapped stories and family updates with a long-time family friend and her husband.
So funny how people's voices stay the same. She sounded exactly the same as I remember her voice from when I was about 6 years old. We had a wonderful time.
Powell's books is HUGE!! It covers an entire city block. It's subdivided into large rooms, and everything is organized into these rooms by category. We could have stayed there all day.
Tom Kha Gai and Thai tea for dinner--Delish.
