Day 4
We started the morning out right.
Actually, we had to skip our breakfast with the rest of the guests so we could catch a 9 o'clock tour to the Columbia River Gorge.
We saw 4 waterfalls, which were all beautiful, and the tour guide was very interesting, which is a euphemism for hippie.
Actually, she had very informative things to say about the geologic history of the gorge, which included a volcano and glaciers a lot of years ago.
I'm not good with history, geology, or geography, which were the subjects of the tour.
Daniel doubted the validity of some of the things she said, but nobody can know everything, right? The important thing is to sound like you know what you're talking about.
But actually Daniel says she didn't accomplish that either. Anyways, it was a good tour.
Surprisingly authentic Mexican food for lunch.
And horchata to drink! Yum-O.
Sad fact. Today it was hotter here in Portland than it was in Dallas.
So we went to a park and tried to stay as still as possible in the shade.
The great thing about the northwest is that the temperature is usually awesome.
The bad thing is that when it does reach 97 degrees, the air conditioning is--let's say--not up to Texas standards.
Anyways, we had a good (hot) time at the park. And I enjoyed a quick nap... on the mesh-work of Daniel's backpack.
