The Week in Review

How was your week?  I hope it was good.  Mine was pretty good.

On Monday I worked, and that was hard.  I don't usually work weekdays, and it was so hard to leave Lucy.

I got to come home during lunch to see her for 20 minutes, which was good, because I didn't get home in the evening until well past her bedtime.

Tuesday was my Mother's Heart Bible study at church, and I enjoy it very much.  I was sad to leave Lucy in the nursery there, but she only cried a little, and I only cried a little, and we both seemed to be fine afterward, though she was exhausted.

We played with Jack's electric car that afternoon, and both kids had such fun with it.

Jack is a little ham.

I love the expression on Lucy's face here, where she's running away from the car.

Wednesday I volunteered at the free women's clinic across town, but only for a couple hours in the evening.  I spent the day with Lucy and Ginnie, and we were super productive out in the office/shed, getting boxes of books unpacked onto the bookshelves so that I can use the boxes in Elliot's "clursery".

Thursday Lucy was sick, thanks to the nursery stay on Tuesday.  She was clingy and wanted to be held most of the day, which was really nice.  She doesn't usually like being held if there's nothing interesting going on to keep her attention.

Ginnie read her "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," which she loves.

She has so many teeth now - it's amazing.  They all came in at once.  Here Ginnie is counting them.

Today is Friday, and Lucy's fever got up to almost 104 F.  She was like a little oven.

She perked up with some Motrin in her system, and I actually managed to get some organizing done in the garage while she napped.

I debated all day about taking her into the doctor's office but finally decided I would really only be going in for reassurance, and I already feel pretty reassured that she's got one of the common viral illnesses that affects little ones but goes away on its own.

Still, we're keeping a close eye on her.

I work this weekend and am sad to miss my sweet niece's birthday party.  But I am so excited about a Michael Card concert this Sunday! He is one of my favorite Christian singer/songwriters and is playing a free concert at Park Cities Presbyterian.  I hope you have a good weekend!

  1. Yikes, so scary with that fever. I hope she's on her way back up now. Always thinking of and praying for y'all, and Ginnie and Jack, too.

  3. Yes, hope she's feeling better now! I'm so jealous that you guys are going to a Michael Card concert. I was listening to him and Bob Bennett on the jeep/bus ride through the mountains and thinking about the last time we went to one of his concerts and he compared his music to broccoli. How silly! But I do love the Basin and the Towel and always get it stuck in my head after I listen to it.
