Madison and Evan

These sweet twins were born right on time--one weighing 7 lbs 4 oz and the other 4 lbs 11 oz!  Can you tell which is which?

They are about 10 weeks old now, but I went and took "newborn" pictures of them yesterday anyways.

It was fun, because Madison was sleepy for the first part and then Evan was sleepy--although less so--for the second part.  As you may recall, I've had some trouble with newborn insomniacs in the past.

At his point, Madison is about 9 pounds.

And Evan is about 13 pounds.

Seems like quite a difference, for twins!

I am always on the look out for more blanket--especially ones with interesting textures like cable knit or chenille.

If you come across any at a thrift store, do let me know.

This one is from Ikea, and I love it.

I have a couple friends who are very pregnant, and I'm looking forward to hopefully being able to photograph their sleepy newborns!

Newborns are so fun.  Well... when they're not yours and you're trying to adapt to them while recovering from birth.  They're still great then, but not as much "fun".

I love their tiny hands.

And tiny feet.  I mean, who doesn't, really.

And smushed up little lips.

Daniel's out of town.  And I work this weekend.  I am tired.

It sort of cracks me up how different these two look.

Just looking at how peacefully they are sleeping... makes me tired.  Or maybe it's the raising of my two that's making me tired.  And the late hour.  Yes.  It's probably that.

  2. Tips for sleepy newborns:
-Have mom feed 3 hours before the session at home and not feed again until they arrive at the session... Have awake time (bath, talk, play - anything to keep them awake) after the feeding at home.
-Upon arrival at the session, leave time for a FULL feeding! Full tummy = sleepy baby :)
-Have some pumped milk (or formula) on hand to soothe baby after that full feeding if needed

    Hope that helps!

  3. These are beautiful, peaceful pics. Amazing how the sleepy pics really look newborn (well, they do to me, anyway), but the awake photos look so much older! Ach, so sorry you're still so tired...poor mommy!

    1. Thanks, Heidi! The tiredness lately has been my own fault, for staying up too late :).
