Illicit Snacks for Baby Ducks

Lucy has been mildly obsessed with "baby ducks!" since going with Nonnie and Papa to feed the ducks (and baby ducks) a few months ago.

We took her out the other evening to do just that, and it was really pleasant.

Despite being about a thousand degrees, we managed to keep our sanity in the heat.

And we kept it a pretty short outing, which was good.

Lucy helped herself to some of the bread, which was good--because, technically, I believe it's against our neighborhood's rules to feed the ducks.

They're supposed to eat the green roughage growing beside the creek.  Roughage that was specifically selected with their diet in mind.

But in any case, the other night we fed them some illicit bread, and they were our best friends.

They were sad to see us leave.

I'm looking forward to repeating this outing -- especially when Elliot is big enough to feed them, too.

  1. So sweet...and what good are ducks if your little one can't ever feed them a little? But I'm glad there's no geese over there, cause they're mean.

    Love the last shot; beauty.

  2. Thanks, Heidi :). I agree with you about the ducks. And the geese.
