I did not set out to have 3 separate birthday parties for Lucy this year, but that's how it turned out. Due to a couple people's traveling plans, we celebrated Lucy's birthday first with her Nonnie and Papa and Ginnie and Jack.

We had yummy chicken pot pie for dinner and then ice cream for dessert. Have you had the Breyers brand of strawberry ice cream? It is amazing. No artificial flavors -- just real strawberries and cream, sugar, and milk (well, and guar gum to make it have a nice texture). It's delicious. You should put it on your list of things to try -- especially with crushed Oreos on top. Oh man my mouth is watering.

Anyways. Lucy was over the moon about her new birthday present - a slide!! Lucy loves slides. I hear her talking about them every single day. In one of our books, there's a picture of Bethlehem with a staircase in it, and Lucy loves to point to it and shout, "slide!!"

She has thoroughly enjoyed it everyday since opening it. And at some point this summer, we'll move it outside and hook it up with a sprinkler and some dish soap--then we'll really be sliding at "the speed of light," which is how Jack slides down every time :).

After dinner Lucy opened her gift from Ginnie and Jack - a giant inflated ball!
Lucy's still a little too small to enjoy it on her own, but she and Jack did well in it together.

We are looking forward to many more years of seeing the kids running around like hamsters in a wheel.

Happy birthday, Lucy--part 1 :).

The close-up swinging picture is great!
