I almost forgot about Elliot's cake smash! We did Lucy's when she was almost one, and I had every intention of doing the same for Elliot--but the time just got away from me! Anyways, I finally got it done on the Thursday before his party Sunday. I wish I'd gotten a pull-away shot of the set-up, but I forgot. Oh well.
He actually had zero interest in this cake. He tried to walk/crawl away probably 10 times before we got any photos. We smushed his hands into the frosting, and he was irritated by that. When we finally gave him a fork, then he was willing to consider trying it. And when we let Lucy dig into it, then he was much more interested :). Still, it's funny to note how different he and Lucy are/were at this age. Lucy was a MESS by the end of this shoot. Elliot was still really clean and tidy.
