Our Summer

Swimming lessons, hard and late--
Learning not to aspirate
Study schedules, concentrate
PANRE done, week thirty-eight
Forty weeks, and still to wait...
Number three, anticipate
Peaceful breaths effectuate
A baby boy who's calm, sedate
Dark blue eyes and brown hair, straight
Fever, sick, can't tolerate
Better to participate
In birthday party, cake ornate
With Disney Cars on cup and plate
Baby showers, decorate
Brand new lives to celebrate
Cheesecake cups to satiate
Photo ops and then play-date
Activities fill up our plate
Passport worries irritate
Breathing easy at the gate
Pilot then to aviate
England, Scotland, Dublin great
Home 2 weeks, recuperate
Next road trip is out of state
Colorado, acclimate
Hike and play and craft create
GPS to navigate
Long car rides necessitate
Hours of Doc McStuffin.  Hate
the Texas heat, appreciate
The air conditioner works great
Preschool plans to stimulate
Lucy and her young bunk-mate
Settling back into a rate
That's slower than the summer.
