Nineteen Months (Elliot's Monthly Photo)

Our sweet middle child.

Elliot has so many new words.  He likes trying to say all kinds of things.  The clearest words are still "ice" and "mama" and "dada" but he also now says Lucy ("Eww-she") and towel ("woll") and more ("mo") and car ("Arrrr") and please ("eeese").

He's basically down to one nap a day now.  Usually after lunch he'll nap for about 2 hours.

His new favorite game is playing Hide and Seek.  He plays on a team with whatever grown-up is playing.  He loves repeating come when I say, "Ready or not... here we come!"  and also he loves saying, "Ewwwww-she!" when we're trying to find Lucy.  She has 2 hiding places she likes, so it's always pretty quick to find her.

Elliot has just started showing preference when it comes to forks, cups, plates, bowls, and even clothes and shoes.  This is way sooner than Lucy developed a preference, but I guess that's to be expected with a second born.  They both love Disney's Cars at this point.  In fact, they now have matching Cars pajamas, and Lucy is tickled pink when they're both wearing them.

Whenever I pull out my camera, Elliot now preemptively says, "cheeeeeeeeeeese" and it is so cute.

Elliot's aggression (read: kicking) toward Oliver seems to be waning, and he's been more affectionate lately, wanting to hold Oliver on his lap and giving him kisses.  It is so sweet.  When I ask him where the baby is, he still points to my tummy.  But if Oliver happens to be in the room, he sometimes points to Oliver.

Adjusting to life with three looks like chaos.  It feels like chaos.  The house looks like it was struck by a tornado.  But the kids are alive and doing well.  So we'll call that success, for now.  Elliot is adjusting beautifully to being a middle child.  It's not easy.  He throws lots of fits these days, but he is also amazingly sweet and thoughtful to both of his siblings.  We are very proud of him.
