January Puddles

It's been cold lately.  Cold and wet.  What does a good mom do when it's cold and wet outside?

If your answer was to let her kid splash around in the January puddles, then we could be good friends.

Actually, I just went out to take some photos of Jack.  But Lucy became so insistent on joining the fun, that eventually I gave in.

Lucy and Jack had a great time splashing.

And these red boots provided many additional minutes of amusement.

I got her into a warm bath right after this.  Neither of them wanted to come in.

Elliot has started smiling this week!  It is such fun to see his little face light up with a quick smile.  Papa really had him smiling the other night, making all kinds of funny noises and faces.
The nights with Elliot have improved marginally. We've got a ways to go before he's sleeping through the night.  I'm tired.  I've been doing Bikram yoga everyday for 2 weeks, and I wish I could quit -- but I don't want to lose the momentum.  If this 60-day challenge were a marathon (26.2 miles), I would be at figurative mile number 7.  Which, ya know---7 miles is a long ways.  But there are still 19 figurative miles left to go.  So, as always -- I am trying to concentrate on taking it one day at a time.
