The Fourth Trimester

I joined the ClickinMoms community recently.  It's a website/group of mom photographers (professional and amateur and everything in between), and one of the things they do is a monthly creativity challenge.  So this month's was to do a "different kind of self portrait"

This was my submission.  I wanted to show that transition stage - when baby is born but is still so dependent in every way that sometimes it seems like I'm still pregnant and we're still one.

I shot this against my blue diamond cloth background in monochrome with these settings:
