Imaginary Bugs

Here's a not-so-funny slice of irony for you. 



We were in these woods the other day, and we could not find a single bug!  Not one.  So we were pretending.  In this photo (above), Lucy is showing Elliot an imaginary bug. 



And in this one, Elliot is holding what he is pretending to be a huge bug (it's a piece of bark).



We weren't in these woods long.  Maybe 10-15 minutes.  I just wanted to check them out. 



Do you know what poor Elliot was covered in the next day?  Chigger bites.  Real ones. 



For those who have not had the pleasure, a chigger bite is approximately a thousand times itchier than a mosquito bite and lasts about 3 times as long.   



I just can't get over the irony.
