Baby Lucy is HERE!

Did you think I forgot about the blog?  It has been a busy few days!

I am working on getting Lucy's birth story written, but here are some photos from the birth, in the mean time.

Early labor - about 2-3 cm at this point.

And jump ahead 12 hours... she was born!

Sweet baby foot.

Proud Papa.

Proud Nonnie.

She was born at 12:45 PM this past Monday (6/27/11) after about 12 hours of labor and weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs 4 oz.

Despite the worries about preeclampsia, we were able to deliver her at home, with lots of family around, exactly as we'd hoped.

We had lots of help from our doula, Kathy O'brien and from our midwife, Amanda Prouty and her assistant Michelle.

I will update with the whole birth story and more pictures soon.

Lucy had a frenulum problem (the piece of tissue in the mouth that attaches the tongue to the bottom of the mouth) that was making breastfeeding really difficult, but she had a little procedure to fix it today, and we are glad to have that behind us.  We are laying low at the house but would love to see any friends who want to stop by - just give us a call or email.  I am recovering, slowly but surely.  Lucy is precious, and we are so grateful to God for his faithfulness during the pregnancy and birth.  Daniel is loving being a dad and is doing a fabulous job.

He even grilled us dinner that night!
