Some of you have asked how the blood pressure thing is going - - and to those of you who are praying for us, thank you!
Quick update: blood pressure has stayed about the same (yay that it has not increased!), though it appears that my kidneys are leaking a little bit of protein, which is not ideal and technically means I have something called Preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is poorly understood, but it is associated with a specific constellation of symptoms and complications that often make it necessary to end the pregnancy by induction or C-section. It's not something I want to have.
I called the backup midwife last night, and she felt comfortable with just seeing me this Friday for an appointment and talking about things then. So that was reassuring to me. Maybe Lucy will surprise me and come a little early? Her "guess date" is this coming Monday, and I was convinced she would be late by about a week, but if she could possibly come sooner rather than later, that would make things easier on my end :).
Keep praying that, God willing, the blood pressure stays the same and the preeclampsia doesn't progress... and of course that baby Lucy stays safe throughout the rest of the pregnancy. Thank you--from the three of us!
I just found you and have been caught up half the day reading through your blog! It is so wonderful. I just wanted to let you know that I went through this myself last year when we were pregnant with our son. I will definitely be keeping your family in prayer. With our son we ended up having to be induced a week early and so he showed up the day before the 4th of July! Everything went well and he is absolutely beautiful and healthy, I just can not believe he is almost a year old! Congrats on the coming baby.By the way your nursery is so adorable! Candie
