Good news - at 38 and 1/2 weeks, we are almost finished with this pregnancy and will soon get to meet baby Lucy!
Bad news - slight hiccup at the midwife visit today... my blood pressure is just a little bit high. That can be a problem if it goes higher or if I develop a few specific symptoms. Dinah (our midwife) is headed to Europe tomorrow and will get back when I am 41 weeks and 2 days. So at this point, the hope is that Lucy will stay put until then and that my blood pressure will return to normal... or at least not elevate any further. I'll check it every other day while Dinah's gone, and if it elevates or a few specific symptoms develop, we'll have to change our plans for the birth. Hopefully it won't come to that - though we know it'll be fine, either way.
If you consider yourself a prayin' woman or a prayin' man, we'd appreciate your prayers that there be no complications during the final few weeks of this pregnancy... and (as a special gift to me) that Lucy waits until Dinah gets back to be born.
And with that, we are off to East Texas to our friends' lake house for a mini-retreat with our Bible study group. I am excited to get away -- if only for one night :).
Hope your weekend is off to a good start!
Praying for you both, Kim and Daniel. Very much hope both that your blood pressure gets back to normal (hope this weekend is relaxing!) and that little Lucy holds out for Dinah's return! Let me know when you get back, I'd love to get together.
