Jackhammers are LOUD and Our House is a Disaster Area.

Yay - the plumbers have begun fixing our extensive sewer line leaks under the house!

Boo - the jackhammers are insanely loud and disruptive.  So much so, that on Monday we packed up and headed over to Daniel's parents' house for the day.  They have been out of town, and walking into their house was like coming to an oasis.

There were wind chimes going in the backyard, but otherwise the house was completely silent.  And clean.  And there were toys already out for Lucy to play with.

And a pack-and-play already set up in the bedroom.  And a high chair already at the table.  It was amazing and peaceful and so nice.

One unfortunate fact about these plumbers is the lack of clear communication about what to expect for the remainder of the week.

We're playing it by ear, but I suspect we'll be camping at either of our parents' houses for the rest of the week.

Also, did I mention there is only one functioning toilet in the house at this point - and it's in our master bedroom?  Not ideal.  However, I must say that I am thankful we are able to do these repairs - and that is largely due to others' generosity.

It feels good to know that soon not every drop of water flushed or drained will end up leaking under our house.  It's just a good feeling.  Not one I ever knew I needed to appreciate before, but one I'm grateful for now.  I don't know if it will take them more than a week to finish.  I don't know much, at this point.

I know that jackhammers are loud.  Like really loud.
