James' Birthday Party and the Rest of This Week

Goodness, this week has flown by!

Last Sunday we went up to my sister's house to celebrate my sweet nephew's birthday.

It's fun to see the cousins together.  I was never close to my cousins, growing up.

And it was the cousins' first time to meet Elliot.  Lizzie kept informing me, "That's baby Elliot.  And that's baby Lucy!"

This week we moved back into our house.  They finished the plumbing inside on Tuesday, which entailed tamping the dirt back into the pits they dug and also filling back in with cement over the dirt.  Then they finished filling the outside pits back in yesterday.

It's such a relief to have the plumbing finished, but unfortunately we are left with some pretty rough patches in the floors and walls that we'll need to repair.  We start on that today.  Thankfully, the previous owners of this house left us extra tiles that we can use to replace the ones jackhammered through in the bathrooms.

Me holding Elliot... and Lucy... holding baby.
This week I spent a little bit of time with both kids, but not much.

I finally set up the pack and play for newborns, and it's awesome!  I didn't even know our pack and play had all this extra stuff the whole time Lucy was a newborn.

But I love the bassinet and the changing surface - so cool. It's nice to have in the living room so I don't have to go all the way back to the bedroom to change Elliot.

We took Elliot yesterday for a little surgery - a procedure to correct his lip tie and tongue tie, both of which have probably been contributing to significant pain with breastfeeding and some symptoms of reflux and incomplete stomach filling for him.  It was rough, because I had to hold him down during the procedure, and of course he was screaming and squirming.  His upper lip is swollen from it, and last night was a long one, since he was uncomfortable and fussy and wasn't really able to nurse well.

Today we are enjoying a quiet day at home.  Daniel is off work for the holidays, so it feels like Saturday and is wonderful.
