Week 3 of Elliot's life. We spent it at Daniel's parents' house, while the plumbing repairs are ongoing at our own.

It was an emotional week. I'm kind of post-partummy... if that's a term (it's not). I was like this after Lucy was born, too. We have a lot on our plates right now, and it's a tough time.

Not to say that we're not grateful for the help people have given and offered. I relied heavily on my MIL this week, and she graciously canceled all her activities to help me with the kids. I was only alone with both kids for about 3 hours during the whole week.
Tomorrow I'll be mostly on my own with the kids while Daniel's at work, and I'm nervous about it. I/we have planned some practical things to help the day go well - like bringing the baby swing into the living room, so I don't have to have Elliot in my arms all day. And we're definitely going to the park at some point. And Ginnie is going to run an errand with Lucy, and my mom will come over in the morning for an hour or two. I think I've prepared as best as I can. My goal is just to make it to the end of the day. Can you tell I'm nervous about it?

This week we went to see Jack perform at his school.
Each grade level performed a dance they'd been practicing for several weeks. Jack did great during the 1st grade dance.
I wish I could have taken a picture, but we were instructed that flash photography was very dangerous and disorienting for the dancers.

This dance performance was preceded by a multi-cultural potluck, which was fun!
There was food from all over. I liked the Ethiopian food.

Jack was cute, showing Lucy around his school.

Elliot slept through everything, of course. Lucy started with an upper respiratory infection last night, so she was up for a good 2 hours in the middle of the night. Elliot is still pretty nocturnal, which meant that between the two of them, we got to see every hour on the clock. Here's hoping for a better night.
I'll be praying for you all! Hope to see you soon, miss you bunches!!
ReplyDeleteAw, poor Lucy! And poor, poor you! I don't know how you're still functioning on so little sleep! I'll be praying for you, too. Love to you all.
ReplyDeleteThanks, April and Heidi :)
